What Akhet does with your data
Short answer: nothing leaves your machine unless you ask for it. Akhet PACS is a desktop program — it reads DICOM files where they already are, and it has nowhere to send them.
We collect nothing
Akhet PACS has no account, no sign-up, no advertising, and no service of ours on the other end. The shipped program contains no HTTP client: there is no path by which an image, a patient name, a study identifier, or a usage statistic could reach us.
The same holds for installing and updating: neither tells us you exist.
Images stay where you keep them
DICOM studies are read from the folder, disk, or share you open, and they stay there. The program keeps a local index (a database file on your own machine) so it can find series and slices quickly; you can delete it at any time and it is rebuilt on the next read.
Annotations, measurements, and reports you write are saved by you, to the destination you choose. When exported as DICOM, the file carries the identifying attributes the standard requires — that file is yours to control and to hand to whomever you decide.
Technical logs and diagnostic sessions
To investigate defects, the program writes two artifacts on your machine: a log file and a session recording the timeline of what happened in the interface.
Both are designed to hold no patient data. Name, identifier, birth date, study and series description, file paths, and exam identifiers are not written: the types carrying those fields have mandatory redaction, verified by automated tests, and a study path appears only as a cryptographic digest that does not lead back to the original.
None of it is sent anywhere automatically. If you want to show us a problem, sending is your own act, file by file — and you can erase everything with the program's cleanup command.
AI assistance (optional)
Akhet PACS can draft a reading of a study with help from a language model. This function is optional, stays off until you trigger it, and relies on a third-party tool that you install and configure on your own machine, under your own credentials.
When you trigger an analysis, the image excerpt and the working text go to that external provider, which is what processes the request. Choosing the provider, contracting with them, and deciding whether to use the function on an identified study are yours to make. We do not sit in the middle and we keep no copy of those exchanges.
Without that tool installed the function simply does not run — and the rest of the program works the same, with no network at all.
This website
akhetpacs.com is a static site with no cookies, no advertising pixels, and no audience measurement service. Fonts are served from the domain itself, not by a third party.
Hosting is GitHub Pages, which keeps its own access records (IP address and browser agent) in order to deliver the pages. That processing belongs to the hosting provider and follows their policy.
If you write to us by email or WhatsApp, we keep what you wrote and how to reach you, in order to answer. Nothing beyond that.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data of yours, there is nothing on our side to correct or delete. What exists lives on your machine, under your control, and is gone once you erase it.
If you still wish to exercise rights under Brazil's LGPD (Law 13.709/2018) or the GDPR regarding a message you sent us, write to the address below. We answer within 15 days.
Children and clinical use
Akhet PACS is a professional working tool and is not directed to anyone under 13.
The program is under development and is not yet registered as a medical device. Responsibility for the reading, for the report, and for the legal custody of studies remains with whoever operates the program and with the institution in charge.
Changes to this policy
If the program ever starts sending something outward — synchronization, accounts, automatic defect submission — this page changes BEFORE the release that does so is published, and the effective date above moves with it.
